Whether working with teenagers by teaching healthy coping skills to overcome an eating disorder; or helping young adults transition into careers, committed relationships, and financial responsibilities; or partnering with older adults by supporting them through various grief and loss circumstances; or helping couples overcome pain and betrayals — Cindy will offer the utmost respect, compassion and skill to help you navigate some of life’s most challenging circumstances.
Cindy has high regard for the relationship between herself and those she works with and believes this relationship to be foundational to the therapy process. She draws from a variety of counseling theories and approaches, including: Person-Centered; Motivational Interviewing; Family Systems and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Clinical Training and Experience
Cindy holds a Masters degree from Emporia State University, Emporia, KS. She is licensed in the state of Colorado as an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor.) The first 13 years of her career were spent with organizations that served persons with severe/persistent mental illness, substance abuse and eating disorders. She has maintained a private practice since 1998 working with persons between the ages of 16 and 93. Cindy is passionate about LGBT concerns; grief/loss and life transitions; conflict resolution and personal growth and development.
