Denice Davis, LMFT, has been practicing psychotherapy for fifteen years. Prior to relocating from California to Colorado in 2015, she served for ten years as an Adjunct Faculty member in the Marital and Family Therapy Program at the University of San Diego, teaching and providing clinical supervision to student therapists.
Denice also served as clinician and supervisor in the Departments of Outpatient Psychiatry and Family Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, and as counselor, supervisor and faculty member for San Diego Hospice and the Institute for Palliative Medicine. She has a special interest in collaborative, multi-disciplinary approaches to medical and mental health care.
Denice works with individuals, couples, and families, and as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, she offers specialized expertise in relationships and family systems. Her style is collaborative, supportive, and goal-oriented, and in her work she draws from her training, clinical experience, practical life experiences, and her prior career in business and management.
When you meet Denice, you’ll find her to be a careful listener, and someone who trusts in your ability to achieve meaningful change. Denice demonstrates a deep respect for your individuality, personal experiences, and natural strengths.
Some of the areas commonly addressed with her clients are self-esteem and confidence issues, experiences of grief and loss, resolution of the effects of abuse and trauma, relationship distress, symptoms of anxiety and depression, employment issues, navigation of family changes as older members age, and other issues resulting from an array of life transitions and developmental changes.
