Jami is passionate about helping you move toward the changes you would like to make in your life and wants to partner with you to help you experience positive mental well-being.

Jami understands how overwhelming life can feel at times and how difficult it can be to find the time to take care of your mental well-being. Jami knows that it takes courage to ask for help. You may be seeking help for anxiety or depression. You may be experiencing conflicts in your relationships, a life loss, or stress from your job. Perhaps you feel stuck, disconnected, that something is missing in your life, or you’re having difficulty with a transition of some kind. As your counselor, Jami will partner with you in an active, yet non-judgmental manner, to help you achieve your identified goals. Jami’s approach is eclectic, holistic, and person-centered to meet your unique needs while using treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, brief solution focused as well as trauma informed treatment interventions.

Jami has worked with clients of all ages including individuals, adolescents, children and families in a diverse range of settings. Jami can help you with a broad range of issues to include but not limited to depression, anxiety, mood disorders, emotional regulation, grief and loss, self-esteem, relationship issues, parenting challenges, behavioral concerns and family systems. Jami can also provide therapy that integrates spirituality, Christianity, and other faith-based concepts, but only at the client’s request.

Training and Professional Experience

Jami earned her Master’s degree in Counseling from Liberty University in 2003. Jami obtained her licensure with the state of Colorado in 2011. Jami has had 10+ years’ experience in the mental health field. Jami is an experienced professional who has provided mental health services in a variety of settings including outpatient and intensive in-home services which included clients who were at-risk children and adolescents, chronically mentally ill adults, at-risk elders as well as individuals and families.

Jami started her career working with at-risk youth and families to enable the families to stay together at home and also has experience providing outpatient counseling and therapeutic groups for children and adolescents. Jami then made the transition to working with the adult population providing advocacy, case management services, biopsychosocial assessments, and individual counseling.
