Jolie Beth has made a specialty of children’s counseling, having spent the past several years working primarily with children and their families. Her expertise includes techniques for addressing anxiety, anger, and trauma in children; working with children and families during life transitions; communication, conflict resolution, and boundaries for adults and children; and working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

But Jolie Beth’s skill set extends far beyond children, as she brings 12 years of experience to her work with individuals, couples, and families. Jolie Beth employs a variety of theories and counseling techniques to create a specialized and unique therapeutic experience for each client, based on their individual needs.

Training and Experience

Jolie Beth earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma, where her research in animal assisted therapy won the Certificate of Merit for outstanding excellence and achievement at the regional conference of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Jolie Beth has worked with troubled children and adolescents at the American Legion Children’s Home, and with children in state custody at Southwest Foster Care, and has collaborated with parents, teachers, Court Appointed Special Advocates, case workers and the juvenile court system.

Most recently, Jolie Beth has also worked with children and their families both in their homes and at school.

Jolie Beth also worked in recent years as part of the on-call Behavioral Health Team for Mercy Hospital, where she has provided emergency intervention and assessment for individuals of all ages who arrive in the emergency room in acute psychological distress.

Jolie Beth is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Colorado and Oklahoma, and a member of the American Counseling Association. She is also certified in AutPlay, a play therapy approach to treating children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and has had extensive continuing education in Play Therapy techniques.
