When you meet Kathryn Price, you’ll feel her genuine interest and caring approach. These stem from her long history (23 years) of helping clients meet their goals and heal their pain.

Kathryn has recently returned home to Colorado after many years of honing her skills and knowledge in Alaska. She is committed to and passionate about her work with children, adults, and families, and will gently and skillfully guide you on your path of healing from trauma, anxiety, loss, and depression.

Do you find yourself challenged by your child’s behavior? Kathryn uses a strength-based, playful approach to serious problems that helps young clients easily engage in the process of change. She has extensive experience with children affected by ADHD, trauma, attachment issues, behavior problems, social issues, depression, and anxiety. She is skilled in engaging with children at their level and assisting them through role-play, art, puppet play, and sand tray therapy to identify their feelings, manage their emotions, and cope with real-life challenges.

Katheryn’s Clinical Experience and Training

Kathryn has had an interest in working with people since she herself was a child; she knew by age 11 that she wanted to help people with their problems. Kathryn’s career as a counselor began in Alaska at a crisis center for children who had experienced sexual abuse. She was the first child counselor at the agency, and with another therapist, developed programs to address the unique needs of traumatized children ages 3 to 14.

Kathryn went on to gain her Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Denver, then returned to Alaska to continue on her path of focusing on the needs of both children and adults.

She gained extensive experience and knowledge as a Clinical Social Worker in a psychiatric hospital, became the Director of Social Services, and started an intensive outpatient program for those experiencing severe emotional and behavioral problems. Kathryn then moved into the private practice realm and brought her caring, empathetic and playful approach to individual, group, and family therapy sessions.

Kathryn will meet you with unconditional positive regard and respect for the process that brings you to therapy. She will support you in the process of change with her wisdom, experience, and knowledge gained in 23 years of practice, creating a safe place to heal and grow.
