“As your counselor,” Alyssa explains, “I’ll work to create a space where you’ll feel welcomed, protected and cared for. You’ll feel liberated to express your truest self: all of your joys, all your sadness, and all your ache. Here, we’ll talk together—at your pace—moving toward a deeper understanding of yourself. In time, we’ll build pathways to your authentic life, the one you’ve always longed for.”
Alyssa works with individuals of all ages, and has a passion for helping teens and adults who find themselves in painful places, whether from traumatic experiences or from the inner voices of shame.
Alyssa is a National Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado and Wyoming. She received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. Alyssa has worked in a variety of behavioral and mental health settings with a diverse client population, where she’s applied her Spanish fluency.
Alyssa worked with at-risk youth at a residential treatment facility, provided case management services to youth and families at a non-profit, and provided individual and group counseling at a domestic violence shelter. Today, Alyssa works with a variety of presenting problems ranging from self-worth issues, spirituality concerns, depression, relationship issues, anxiety, intimate partner violence, childhood sexual trauma, PTSD symptoms and attachment issues. Her practice sometimes incorporates EMDR Therapy: Alyssa received EMDR Advanced and Basic Training from the Maiberger Institute, an EMDRIA approved provider.
