Angela puts her heart into understanding and connecting with each and every client. Through kindness and empathic listening, Angela accepts you wherever you are. It is very important to her that the therapy room is an inviting and safe space for you to unburden yourself from the heaviness you’ve been carrying for so long.
Angela helps puts pieces together, figure out what is working well and also what is not working, and helps you find your inner voice of wisdom and healing. Rather than consider herself an expert, she honors the light and values the experience present in you.
Angela feels that she works best with teenagers and adults to address issues such as depression, anxiety, OCD, addiction, PTSD, borderline personality disorder, self-esteem, parenting, and relationship issues. She is eclectic in her approach, drawing from such treatment modalities as interpersonal, person-centered, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, solution-focused, and attachment based therapies.
Angela received both her Bachelors and Masters in Wilmore, KY from sister institutions, Asbury University and Asbury Theological Seminary respectively. Although her training was at a seminary, Angela enjoys helping all clients of any faith tradition (or none at all). After she graduated, she moved here to Fort Collins, CO and has worked for two separate community mental health centers before joining Heart Centered. She also worked on-call in the hospital emergency department doing mental health evaluations. Finally, she’s experienced in tele-therapy.
