Cassie enthusiastically joined the Heart-Centered Counseling team in early 2019. Previously, she had been running a successful private practice but found herself desiring to make larger impact on a broader scale within mental health care. When she witnessed how Heart-Centered was improving access to mental health services and met the competent and caring team there, she decided to jump on board and hasn’t looked back.
Cassie is a clinician first and places the highest priority on supporting her clients. She comes with diverse clinical experience treating trauma, addictions, eating disorders, couples and sex therapy. In addition to being a clinician, Cassie has served in several leadership roles as a team lead, clinical supervisor, and clinic coordinator. She also continues to provide outside training, supervision, and consultation to professionals. Principles of being trauma-informed and relationally-focused inform her work with clients, colleagues, and community partners.
Cassie graduated from Calvin College with her BA in secondary education and was a middle school teacher prior returning to graduate school at the University of Michigan to complete her MSW. She is a licensed clinical social worker and licensed addiction counselor in Colorado, Certified EMDR Therapist and Consultant-in-Training, Gottman Level II Trained Couples Therapist, and has post-graduate training in Sex Therapy from the University of Michigan Sexual Health Program.
Cassie grew up in the Midwest and moved to Colorado six years ago for adventure and opportunity–both of which she has happily found here. She most enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, cooking and baking, being outdoors, and traveling.
