Cynthia believes that you’re an expert on your life and will work collaboratively with you. She’ll listen and understand, and then use empowering techniques to help you heal, including mindfulness, journaling, self-forgiveness, and meaning-making. Hand-in-hand, you’ll learn to build self-esteem, overcome depression and anxiety, resolve relationship issues, and deal with life transitions and adjustments.
Specific treatment modalities employed in sessions include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Logotherapy. Cynthia is multi-skilled and brings tenets of relational, trauma-focused, feminist, strengths-based and person-focused work into her sessions as well. Cynthia specializes in working with people who have survived traumatic events.
Cynthia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked with survivors of domestic violence, trained people working with crime victims as well as child welfare professionals. She’s spent years in multiple settings including community mental health.
