Hanna helps individuals and couples overcome many challenges that get in the way of experiencing happiness, reflection, growth, and healing, such as relational struggles, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and LGBTQIAP+ issues. She uses a combination of techniques tailored to each of her client’s needs, like empowerment; exploring meaning and purpose; developing relaxation and coping skills; creating and establishing goals; re-framing exercises; and examining unhelpful thoughts and behaviors and replacing them with more flexible ways of thinking and behaving. She draws from person-centered, strength-based and affirmative practices including Narrative Therapy, CBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, DBT, and other modalities that involve therapeutic creative activities.
She has a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Gonzaga University in Washington State, and experience working in school settings, nursing homes, and private practice. Hanna has a special interest in working with the LGBTQIAP+ population, and says, “advocacy is essential to my personal and professional life.”
