Jim’s therapy style is relaxed and empathetic. Having worked with substance abuse disorders and severe and persistent mental illness, he understands how to handle the needs of those in high crisis situations, as well as the needs of individuals who feel they just want a little extra help in order to make their life more manageable. His clients say that his laid back and accepting approach helps them to work through their issues in a safe and nurturing environment.
Jim has a Master’s degree in counseling and is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Colorado. He is certified in Families First group counseling and is trained in childhood trauma cognitive behavioral therapy. Jim has done extensive work in trauma therapy, with a focus on adult survivors of childhood trauma, as he understands that trauma is a relatively misunderstood and overlooked field of work with most clients, but also perhaps the most important work when attempting to obtain long term stability and happiness in life.
