When you meet Julie, her empathetic nature will help you feel cared for and valued. She’ll empower you to work collaboratively with her, ask questions, and contribute ideas about your plan toward healing. She’ll encourage you to practice self-care and to use coping skills regularly. Whatever trauma you’ve experienced, she’ll help you find your strengths and use them to move forward and find your new normal.
Julie’s ultimate goal is for you to view life in a different light by overcoming destructive patterns, like self-deprecation, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, low motivation, and emotion dysregulation. She’ll guide you in developing this new perspective by using a variety of modalities, such as CBT, Alderian and narrative therapies. One of her specialties is using Trauma-Focused CBT and play therapy with children who have experienced traumatic events. She also works with families using team-building activities.
The majority of Julie’s experience is working with people who’ve experienced trauma and working with children and youth. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of Northern Colorado, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Psychology from the University of Connecticut.
