When you’re in session with Kaity, you’ll feel her warm, caring presence. Here, in this safe and calming environment, you’ll feel welcomed to share your story.
Kaity focuses on creating an authentic connection. She’ll bring her natural empathy and support, her humor and her tenderness, and her genuine excitement to learn about you and your world. Together, working side-by-side, you’ll tackle life’s most difficult problems and achieve your goals.
Kaity uses active listening, empowerment, advocacy, and psychoeducational tools to help you understand how to work toward feeling better. She believes that relationships and shared connections with others are the cornerstones of developing a healthy sense of self. Instead of focusing on becoming more independent from others, Katy believes that strong connections form an important part the healing process.
Katie obtained a Master’s of Education degree in community counseling from the University of Oklahoma, and is currently a doctoral candidate working on her Ph.D. in counseling psychology. She is certified as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Colorado and Oklahoma.
Prior to starting her current degree program, she has previously worked with victims of natural disasters and trauma; pre-school populations (with the Head Start Program) as a Mental Health and Disabilities Coordinator; college students at university counseling centers; and with clients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. She has worked with a diverse range of people, including children from four years of age to adults in elderly adulthood.
