Laura will provide a caring, respectful, calm, safe space as you engage in therapy with her. Her style is authentic and direct, while also warm and empathetic to the struggles you’re facing. She believes that equipped with the appropriate support and tools, each unique individual has the inherent ability to overcome challenges and create the life they desire. Her goal is to help you foster growth and self-awareness as an encouraging and supportive guide along your path to wellness.
Using active listening, curiosity and collaboration, Laura ensures you will feel seen and heard during therapy. Through engaging in the therapeutic relationship, you may gain more insight into processing difficult thoughts and emotions, learn more effective communication skills, or obtain an enhanced sense of self-worth. She’s worked with issues including managing difficult relationships, depression/anxiety, life transitions, LGBTQ issues, grief/loss, substance abuse and a myriad of other issues. Specifically, she’ll use a mix of Mindfulness-based counseling approaches, Motivational Interviewing, DBT, SFBT, person-centered and strength-based therapy modalities.
Laura has 10 + years of experience working with adolescents and adults in many settings; her path in therapeutic service began by working as a mentor with at-risk adolescents in wilderness therapy. Since receiving her Master’s degree in Mindfulness-Based Counseling Psychology in 2016, she has worked with adults in community mental health outpatient, substance abuse treatment and an acute inpatient environment.
Regardless of your personal struggles or background, Laura feels privileged to be able to work intimately with you in counseling and feels committed to helping you achieve the wellness you’re seeking.
