Laurel exudes her own special brand of kindness: When you first meet her, you’ll feel safe and cared for. From that safe place, Laurel will use her years of clinical experience to support you in reclaiming a healthy, balanced life.
Laurel has expertise working with concerns such as feelings of depression, suicidal ideation, trauma, anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, growth and development, spiritual support, and a love of self, as she aims to help you discover your innate ability to reclaim emotional, social, and spiritual health.
Laurel received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University and began her counseling career in an early childhood setting with children ages 0-11, incorporating mindfulness, sensory processing, transpersonal counseling and therapeutic yoga into her work. Soon after, Laurel shifted her intentions to a university setting, counseling with adult students and staff who suffered from suicidal ideation, feelings of depression, acute anxiety, relationship issues and life transitions. Laurel also has conducted numerous community trainings in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) as well as safe TALK, each increasing community awareness and empowerment around suicide, mental health, and help-seeking behaviors.
Laurel practices from a mindfulness framework, knowing that when you are in tune with your senses (with what your body is communicating), you’re able to break free from old patterns that prevent a sense of fullness, and come into living a life of wholeness. Laurel is confident that through your time with her, you’ll reclaim that feeling of empowerment in your life, and flow with your own natural rhythm.
