When you meet Lisa, you’ll immediately be struck by her warm, caring, emphatic, and non-judgmental attitude, as well as her genuine eagerness to support you. Lisa will focus on building a trusting relationship with you, one she’ll foster by listening to and understanding who you really are.
Lisa believes you are unique, so she’ll collaboratively partner with you to establish an individualized and achievable plan, one that’ll move you toward the life you most want.
Lisa knows that sometimes medications can be very effective and beneficial in achieving better health. She will review your biological, psychological and social history to determine the most effective treatment to relieve your symptoms and then work with you to decide if medication is appropriate. Her goal is to obtain maximum results with minimal medication. She utilizes the most recent evidence-based guidelines to assess, prescribe and monitor any medication she prescribes.
Services provided by Lisa include medication management, labs and tests as needed, education, psychotherapy, self-care techniques and referrals to other specialists as indicated.
When providing psychotherapy services, Lisa’s takes an eclectic approach which often incorporates CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy), Gestalt, solution focused, and relationally focused integrative therapies. Lisa’s areas of specialty include ADHD, Autism Spectrum, Depressive Disorders, Transgender issues/LGBTQIA + issues, working with children and adolescents, and more.
Lisa is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She earned a Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) at Alliant International University in San Diego, a Master’s in Nursing Science (MSN) at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, and a Bachelor’s in Nursing Science at University of Delaware. Lisa has been a psychiatric nurse for over 30 years.
Her nursing and psychology work and clinical training experiences include: Psychiatric inpatient hospital units (child; Adolescent; Adult; Geriatric); Adolescent Residential Treatment Center; K-8 school counselor; Medical Center Developmental Clinic; Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic; Community Mental Health Center; Medical Center Psychiatric and Consultant/Liaison Services.
