Lorna brings a warm, genuine, caring presence into each of her therapy sessions. She believes in you and in your ability to change and grow, transforming both how you’re adapting to your life and even (at times) your life itself. Together, you’ll find relief and healing.
Lorna has cared for others her entire life, first in her work an RN and more recently as a Professional Counselor. She’ll help you feel safe, welcome, accepted, and cared for. Then, she’ll work with you to create insight and understanding, implementing portions of Transactional Analysis that empower you to find and experience the root of your specific struggles. One you understand the past and where your struggles might have begun, you’ll work together on a deep healing: Lorna gently and patiently guides each of her clients though this healing process and then provides tools you can implement to help you address future life events with courage and compassion.
Lorna is happy to help clients address general anxiety, depression, trauma, and most every mental health issue. She’s also passionate about helping pregnant and postpartum women/couples address emotional issues that can occur during this phase of life. Because of her nursing background, Lorna has a heart for helping people dealing with the emotional effects of medical issues such as feelings of grief, hopelessness, and depression.
Lorna received her nursing degree from Regis University in Denver, CO in 1989, working in a variety of settings until she followed a passion to pursue becoming a counselor. Because of her own positive experience with therapy, she decided to become the same beacon of hope for others that she experienced. She completed the degree requirements in 2004, graduating from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA in 2005 with a master’s degree in Professional Counseling, then fulfilling the licensure requirements for Colorado to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.
