When you first meet Melanie, you’ll feel welcomed, comforted, and put at ease. She’ll support you in finding and expressing your authentic voice, and she’ll respond with empathy, transparency, and care. Each step of the way, you’ll find Melanie to be emotionally understanding and supportive, bringing in kindness and lightening the load from time to time with humor and playfulness.

Melanie will guide and support you as you work through your life struggles, both those on the inside, and those on the outside with the people you love. Melanie will pro- vide you tools to enhance your self-esteem and sense-of-self so you feel able to ex- press yourself fully and meaningfully. She’ll also help you rediscover your sense of purpose and direction, supporting you in overcoming any past trauma that be impact- ing your daily life.

Melanie will tailor-make the therapeutic experience to meet your individual needs. She is adept at providing a mix of different therapeutic tools such as engaged listening, psycho-education, coaching, relaxation techniques, development of coping skills, and methods to help you gauge your own progress.

Melanie is comfortable working with all ages and provides trauma informed care, per- son centered care, and uses techniques from dialectical hehavior therapy and cogni- tive therapy. She’s skilled in both individual and family therapy.

Melanie earned her Bachelor’s in Science from Wofford College in Spartanburg South Carolina and a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Washington University. She has worked in a variety of different therapeutic environ- ments for over 10 years including residential treatment, drug and alcohol treatment centers, and outpatient settings working with individuals, families, and children and adolescents.
