It’s Adam’s hope that when you meet with him, you’ll experience a sense of connection, understanding, and unconditional positive regard. He wants you to feel safe while working toward your treatment goals. He will help you gain insight and awareness about your stressors, empower you to identify obstacles to growth, and develop strategies to overcome them.
Adam works with individuals from 6 years to late adulthood. He can help them develop and master the skills needed to alleviate symptoms of depression, addiction, anxiety, relational issues, and other life struggles.
Adam likes to use a combination of active listening, metaphors, and humor during sessions. He’s highly skilled in evidence-based practices, such as CBT, DBT, ACT, Stages of Change, and SMART Recovery. He also believes that eclecticism is incredibly beneficial in widening one's perspective, so utilizes mindfulness practices, person-centered approaches, a trauma-informed mindset, and other experiential modalities.
With a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Adam has worked in behavioral health residential programs, substance abuse treatment programs, and day treatment schools. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his family; play games; listen to podcasts; stream a show or movie; and read sci-fi or fantasy books. He also likes to escape to the mountains for some relaxation.
