About Caitlin Walk, LCSW

One of Caitlin’s main goals when working with you is to offer you a safe and welcoming space, one free from judgments and preconceived notions. Caitlin’s sense of humor will put you at ease, and her guidance will help empower you to realize your strengths in all situations. She’ll take the time you need to heal, recognizing that for some it may take a little while to feel safe and comfortable. In a calm, secure space, Caitlin will help you work through any issues you may be having using a variety of therapy skills. Caitlin’s eclectic approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, client-centered therapy, strengths-based therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Caitlin also has experience using play therapy and art therapy techniques with children, adolescents, and adults.Caitlin earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work and went on to earn her Master of Social Work from the same institution. While earning her degrees, Caitlin worked in various jobs gaining experience in shelter, legal, and therapeutic settings. Over the course of 8 years, Caitlin came into contact with clients from all walks of life, and has gained skills with a diverse client base. Her most recent position, prior to joining Heart-Centered Counseling, was as a Trauma Therapist specializing in intimate partner violence, giving her extensive experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma and PTSD.
