About Cathleen Charlow, LPC

Cathleen believes that therapy is a journey of working together through providing a warm and empowering space. Together with Cathleen, you’ll explore the present and past to discover the messages behind your feelings and behaviors to work towards a place of self-compassion and healing. Cathleen works with a variety of needs including trauma, anxiety, depression, shame, and maladaptive behaviors.

Using trauma-informed care and encouraging integrative health, she will help you learn and implement strategies for emotional regulation, increase understanding of your patterns and emotions, and recognize your inherent worth to achieve your goals. While Cathleen works with clients to find a modality that fits each individual’s needs, she primarily practices from internal family systems, somatic experiencing, EMDR therapy, and CBT therapy.

With a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Clemson University and almost a decade in the field, Cathleen has diverse experience working in settings including community mental health, inpatient acute care, and intensive outpatient programs. Originally from South Carolina, Cathleen enjoys an active lifestyle of hiking, connecting with others, reading, and all things outdoors.
