When you meet Charis, you’ll feel understood, challenged, encouraged, and supported to explore who you are and what it would look like for you to heal and grow. You’ll be welcomed into a space where you can be your full self and know that you will still be accepted. Your work together with Charis might include tears, discomfort, and difficult conversations, but it also will include play, creativity, and laughter. Charis offers you an opportunity to learn skills, build insight and understanding, be challenged to grow, and take steps towards change.
Charis work with clients who want to improve their mental health, build and strengthen healthy relationships, process and overcome obstacles in their life, and learn about themselves on a deeper level so that they can live their best lives. Issues her clients can address include depression, anxiety, trauma, mood instability, family or relational conflicts, considering career options, questions about parenting, exploring identity, culture, or overcoming societal barriers and oppression. Beginning with a person-centered approach, she uses a range of modalities based on what a client is working on or struggling with. CBT, DBT, family systems theory, multicultural counseling, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, emotion focused, and positive psychology are some that she draws from.
Charis has a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and has worked with children, teenagers, and families helping them to implement behavioral plans, improve communication, and strengthen relationships. Originally from New York, Charis recently relocated to Colorado. She speaks both English and Spanish, and offers therapy in both.
