Chelsea believes that you’re capable of deep healing and personal growth. She sees herself as a guide, supporting and encouraging you along your journey to inner peace and authentic living. Chelsea’s approach is both nurturing and grounded. She’ll create a comforting space where you’ll feel safe to freely express your concerns, your experiences, and your feelings. From here, she’ll work with you to uncover deep self-compassion and acceptance. She believes that these are key elements to attain personal healing and whole-hearted living. Chelsea is a person-centered eclectic psychotherapist, one who will help you understand the impacts of trauma on your brain and nervous system, and the science of healing. She uses mindfulness, SE (somatic experiencing), CBT (cognitive behavior therapy), DBT (dialectical behavior therapy), guided relaxation and existential approaches to help you manage challenges, connect with yourself more deeply, and reclaim your power. She is trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) and is excited to offer this powerful modality to help you find healing from trauma and other challenges. Chelsea has spent the past 5 years supporting survivors of intimate partner abuse, many of whom also experienced other forms of trauma, anxiety, depression and other relationship challenges. Chelsea will work towards helping you make sense of your experiences and find a deep sense of clarity and freedom. Chelsea is originally from upstate New York, and has lived and worked in a variety of communities. She served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Niger, West Africa, before she began her journey in the field of social work over 9 years ago. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver and is a RYT (registered yoga teacher) and TIYT (trauma-informed yoga therapist).
