You’ll feel welcomed into a caring, accepting and comfortable environment when you meet with Dayna. She’s dedicated to creating a space where you’ll feel free to express your inner thoughts and feelings, which can increase self-awareness and self-acceptance. The humor she uses from time to time will help you feel at ease and lighten the mood. She strongly believes that you are the expert on your life, and will take a non-directive approach to treatment and let you guide the way toward your healing.
Dayna’s clients can learn to overcome and re-frame maladaptive ways of thinking about themselves and the world. This change in mindset can help clients to overcome depression, anxiety, relational issues, grief and loss, everyday stress, and trauma. Her therapy style uses empathy and reflective listening to assist clients in processing the underlying causes of their issues. She uses normalization and validation to help clients re-frame the self-critical inner voice. She teaches clients to show compassion and kindness to themselves so they become empowered to make the changes they need to make to live their best life. Modalities she incorporates into therapy include CBT, DBT, person-centered, narrative, and existential modalities into my practice.
Dayna has a Master’s degree in counseling and experience working in various crisis and community mental health settings.
