Dwayne believes that one of the bravest things you can do is to begin to understand your own story and experience yourself in new ways. He wants to help you find solutions to your challenges and make life changes toward healing. He wants to teach you how to live free of emotional pain, deal with life on your terms, and find meaning in your work, family, and friendships.
Dwayne’s clients can address bad relationships, addictions, trauma, anxiety, anger, depression, and many other personal issues. He utilizes active listening, reflection, and educational tools to provide clients with empowering skills to feel engaged and enlivened in the counseling process. He takes an eclectic, person-centered approach to therapy that includes CBT, REBT, and solution-focused interventions.
With a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, Dwayne has worked in the behavioral health field for 30+ years. During that time, he’s gained a wide range of professional experience, including community mental health agency counseling, private practice, working at nonprofit and for-profit institutions, EAP counseling, treating addictions and mental illness in hospital settings, and emergency room evaluations.
