When you meet with Holly, you'll likely feel a sense of playful seriousness from her. Because she’s worked with young adults for a long time, her style tends to be relaxed, relational, and flexible. She'll value you as an individual and treat you with dignity.
Holly specializes in helping clients who're struggling with symptoms of trauma, stress (acute, development, and/or chronic), anxiety, and depression. She is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, with over 500-hours of training in a body-based approach to trauma resolution. She integrates this approach, along with other expressive and experience-based modalities, into a broadly humanistic, developmental and equity-oriented framework. Along with her commitment to helping young adults, she also has a special interest in supporting the often-overlooked mental health needs of those in the helping professions, such as teachers, counselors, and medical professionals.
With a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Adler University, Holly was a university mental health counselor for 15 years in Chicago before moving to Denver in 2019. She's also worked in community-based and private-practice settings and, served as a high school counselor at Englewood High School. Because of her background in education, Holly is especially sensitive to how systems and social-cultural contexts can impact mental health.
