Joshua welcomes you into a genuine therapeutic relationship based upon mutual cooperation, respect, and earned trust. He’ll help you to explore and assess your personal value systems through a multi-cultural lens to better inform you of how those systems are affecting your current concerns. He’ll encourage you to increase your awareness of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in the present to increase your sense of personal freedom and well-being. He’ll assist you in recognizing your strengths and teach you how to fully embrace the specialness of your life, with compassion for both yourself and others.
Joshua’s training and experience are well suited for helping people who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, and difficult life transitions. He’s a trauma informed therapist with extensive education and experience working with post-traumatic stress. His therapeutic methods primarily include: Existential Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) modalities. He believes that counseling is a powerful opportunity for individuals, couples, and families to fully integrate their lives through an intentional effort to understand their own experiences in profound ways.
Joshua earned a Master’s degree in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
