Julie’s clients can overcome relational issues and general life struggles, such as interpersonal communication and life transitions, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Active listening and unconditional positive regard are some of the tools Julie uses, as well as providing a balance between education and process. She provides clients with the skills and tools that they need to work through their struggles, inspiring confidence in them.
Julie takes a strengths-based or humanistic approach to therapy, and utilizes various modalities, like CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing. She uses the Emotion Freedom Tapping Technique (EFTT) as part of trauma therapy.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Miami University and an Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver, Julie has worked in all levels of care, including at a residential level with eating disorders and substance abuse, and at an outpatient substance abuse agency, focusing on dual-diagnosis clients.
