Kate Walker is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Colorado who has been practicing since 2022. She has an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counselor, an MA in Curriculum and Instruction and certification in Literacy from the University of Texas Arlington and a BA in Elementary Education. Kate has a background in education and has now found her passion in counseling. She has experience working with children in elementary through middle school, as well as adult, couple, and family counseling. Another area she is passionate about is adolescents and young mothers. Her experience has also incorporated facilitating plans and counseling individuals striving for sobriety. While these are some of the areas she specializes in, there is no client Kate wouldn't love to meet with and see if she is the right fit. Kate has experience in several areas including trauma, eating disorders, young adult life stressors, postpartum depression, and those on the path to sobriety. Current modalities she uses include CBT, Motivational Interviewing, DBT skills, Solution Focused Therapy, psychoeducation, acquisition of positive coping skills, and story work or Narrative Therapy. Kate is passionate about helping others do the work to overcome past hardships and turn them into current strengths. Every person has a story, and every story is worthwhile. In her free time, Kate enjoys running and races, CrossFit, animals (goldens especially), and anything outdoors.
