When life feels uncontrollable and overwhelming, it's important to have someone like Kathleen on your team. She can help you process your experience and heal from past traumas and disappointments. With Kathleen walking alongside, you’ll feel supported as you learn to identify your needs and strengths to accomplish goals, improve interpersonal relationships, and live a fuller and more meaningful life.
While Kathleen assists her clients to address many challenges, her specialties include disabilities, trauma, guilt and shame, managing and processing emotions, and self-image and self-esteem. She’s passionate about working with teenagers, young adults, and adults who are struggling to adjust, longing to learn healthy coping skills, and hoping to improve their interpersonal relationships, as well as with seniors hoping to find meaning and purpose in the later stages of life. Utilizing the therapeutic relationship, she can collaborate with clients to highlight negative thinking patterns, learn radical acceptance, and create accountability and growth through diverse techniques, like dialectic behavior activities, distress tolerance skills, existential, experiential, and cognitive behavioral techniques.
Kathleen earned a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado, specializing in counseling individuals with disabilities (whether physical or invisible). She has experience in multiple counseling settings, including outpatient, crisis, and substance abuse treatment, and believes that change is fostered through trust, acceptance, connection, and learning to identify and speak our truth.
In her free time, Kathleen enjoys going on learning adventures with her son, camping, exploring small towns, and taking road trips to experience everything she can in life.
