About Katie Beamer, LPC

Katie Beamer, LPC Katie Beamer is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado who has been practicing since 2016. She has a Bachelor of Science in Organization Human Resource Management, a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from Argosy University, and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. Katie has worked in numerous mental health backgrounds over the last ten years and her passion lies in helping people overcome trauma. She believes that there are many different approaches to working through trauma and the best fit varies greatly with each person. Katie often uses the Person-Centered Approach, first and foremost, which lies in the belief that “each of us has the power to find the best solutions for ourselves and the ability to make appropriate changes in our lives.” We are all human after all and who knows you better than you! Secondly, Katie works from pulling in mindfulness and somatic techniques, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in her treatment approach. She believes each person is truly unique and must be treated with high levels of respect and understanding no matter what. Katie will tailor your conversations and treatment to meet your individual, holistic needs to the best of her ability. If it’s not a good fit, Katie will do her best to find someone who is. In her spare time, Katie loves to dance, sing, do yoga, read, bake, watch her shows (repeatedly), spend time alone (introvert right here), camp, hike, ride dirt bikes, enjoy the outdoors, and cook (total foodie, you will likely see her snack when you meet, feel free to bring snacks). Katie’s favorite way to spend time is with her better half (who humors her dancing and singing), friends, family, and fur baby, Toki (her soul doggo). Katie can’t wait to get to know you and have your back through whatever might bring you to counseling; we all need someone in our corner no matter what!
