Dr. Kelly Love is a Licensed Psychologist in Colorado who has been licensed since 2009. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English, Master of Arts in Educational Psychology, and Doctorate of Philosophy in School Psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She completed her Predoctoral Internship in Clinical Psychology at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School, and her Psychiatry Fellowship in the Department of Psychology at Harvard Medical School. She spent an additional year completing a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Child Psychology from Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Love believes that the theoretical orientation/therapeutic techniques you will use together will vary based on presenting concern and your preference, however all are evidence based (meaning—there are decades of research showing that they work). She most often utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in sessions, however, also frequently pulls from Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness/Meditation strategies. Dr. Love feels that trust is incredibly important in a successful therapeutic relationship. A psychologist can have all the degrees and skills in the world, but if they can’t connect with you in a meaningful way-change will not occur. In session, Dr. Love is honest, open, and direct, yet works very hard to create a safe environment to foster growth. She does not discriminate and is GLBTQ friendly. Bottom line—you are the expert on you. Dr. Love went to school for waaaay too long to learn how to assist people who want to make changes. Together we can start to turn things around. When not doing the psychologist thing, Dr. Love is usually found doing the mom thing. She enjoys spending time with her family and playing outside. When she gets quiet time (ha!), she loves to read, practice yoga, and meditate.
