Laura knows that life and relationship struggles are an inevitable part of being human and believes no one should face them alone. She welcomes you into a supportive, accepting, judgement-free environment where you’ll experience empathy, kindness, and open communication. It’s a safe space where you’ll feel empowered to work through whatever life has thrown you. Laura will walk the journey with you, fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship as an essential part of your healing. You’ll hear that you’re not your mental health diagnosis; it is but only a part of you as a whole person.
Active listening and psychoeducation are techniques Laura uses to help clients recognize the coping skills and resiliency that they already possess. Some of the modalities she incorporates into therapy are Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Person Centered therapy, Psychodynamic, Trauma Informed Care, and Motivational Interviewing. Because everyone has their own story and everyone’s journey looks different, she tailors her approach for each individual.
With a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado, Laura has worked with clients as young as 10 and adults into their 70s who have had an array of challenges in their lives, including domestic violence and substance abuse.
