If you’re feeling a sense of stagnancy and “stuckness” in how you relate to others, as well in your relationship to yourself and your emotions, Laura can help. She’s down to earth and authentic, with her own life experiences allowing her to relate to a lot of what you’re going through. She also leans toward a bit of humor (when appropriate) believing that even when things are difficult, we can find a little room for lightheartedness and joy. Laura is an empathic listener who believes “…our emotions are messages that are constantly guiding us in our decision-making, and the more we can tolerate rather than avoid our uncomfortable emotions, the better we can take control of our lives and make choices that lead us closer to connection and fulfillment.” She specializes in relational work with couples and families, and also works with individuals. Her main modality is Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), using it to help clients explore their underlying emotions that color their experience of themselves and the way they relate to others. Laura has a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) and much experience working in community mental health, with a focus on supporting families of adolescents.
