When you meet Maggie, you’ll feel her warm caring and support right away as she invites you to build a strong therapeutic alliance. As you journey together on a healing path, you’ll feel honored and empowered to believe in yourself. Maggie acknowledges that the human condition is incredibly challenging, with so much to overcome, like PTSD, trauma, anxiety, ADHD, sexual abuse, grief/loss, behavioral issues, anxiety, depression, parenting skills, chronic pain and health conditions, and more. She assesses what tools to use with each client, tools such as positive reinforcement, goal-setting, and relaxation techniques. She brings her gifts of problem-solving, educating, and creativity to the table to help make a difference in peoples’ lives. She’s fairly eclectic in her modalities, catering to the needs of the individual, but tends to use a person-centered approach, seeing clients as the experts about themselves. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and mindfulness-based practices, as well as different addiction modalities. She also is trained in Psychedelic Integration Therapy and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Maggie has many years of experience working in the field of mental health since obtaining her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver. She has worked in a variety of settings (including hospice/bereavement, HIV/AIDS, inpatient and outpatient medical settings/oncology, corrections and community mental health) and is experienced working with individuals of all ages.
