She is adept at providing a mix of different therapeutic tools such as engaged listening, psycho-education, coaching, relaxation techniques, development of coping skills, and methods to help you gauge your own progress. Melanie is comfortable working with all ages and provides trauma informed care, per- son centered care, and uses techniques from dialectical hehavior therapy and cogni- tive therapy. She’s skilled in both individual and family therapy. Melanie earned her Bachelor’s in Science from Wofford College in Spartanburg South Carolina and a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Washington University. She has worked in a variety of different therapeutic environ- ments for over 10 years including residential treatment, drug and alcohol treatment centers, and outpatient settings working with individuals, families, and children and adolescents.
