When working with clients, Melissa offers them a variety of useful tools to help them acquire new relationship, collaboration, and communication skills, as well as how to manage symptoms like anxiety and depression. She leans on many modalities, such as EMDR, Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, CBT, and DBT. The approach she takes depends on each client’s concerns and needs.
Melissa holds a Master’s degree in Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy and works from a social justice orientation that celebrates diversity. She’s worked with individuals, couples, and families in a community mental health setting. Some of that experience included using play therapy with families with young children (3-6 years) and their siblings
