Nicole Henderson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and completed her undergraduate degree at Colorado State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She then earned her graduate degree of a Master’s in Social Work with a concentration in health and wellness from University of Denver. Nicole has experience working in private practice and residential treatment settings.
Nicole knows therapy can be transformative – her goal is to help individuals feel genuinely heard and supported in walking their path of growing and healing. She values creating a safe and warm environment for clients to have the space to process their complexities of life. In sessions with Nicole, she incorporates empathy, acceptance, and sincerity in working together. She strives to help clients develop coping skills and cultivate their inner strength. Nicole believes in establishing a trusting therapeutic rapport with everyone she meets with, as well as empowering each individual in moving through their stage of change.
Nicole specializes in working with adolescents, adults, and older adults in navigating a variety of issues. She believes in the interconnectedness of thoughts, feelings, and actions, as well as mind and body connections. She uses evidence based therapeutic techniques with a trauma informed lens in tailoring her approach to meet the specific needs of each individual. Nicole uses many therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness, narrative therapy techniques, and solution focused therapy techniques.
Outside of work, Nicole practices self-care by spending quality time with loved ones, cooking, and being outdoors with her rescue dog.
