When you’re in session with Rebecca, you’ll feel understood and accepted. You’ll experience a high level of empathy as Rebecca works with you in a pragmatic and direct way.
Rebecca’s clients can overcome a variety of challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma, life adjustments, family adjustments, and the day-to-day stressors of life. She enjoys taking a resilience and sustainability focused approach and equipping her clients with skills that will last a lifetime. She also uses active listening, empathy, skills building, CBT, elements of DBT, mindfulness, humor, and narrative and trauma-informed approaches. Additionally, Rebecca will consider the biological components of an individual’s issues, whether that's understanding how trauma is held in the body, how depression changes the brain, or how breathing can shift between nervous systems.
Rebecca began her career in the behavioral health field as a volunteer, helping survivors of domestic violence, stalking, and sexual assault. While earning her undergraduate degree, she completed two international internships, working with survivors of human trafficking in Ghana and Thailand. After earning a Master’s degree in Social Work, Rebecca began doing in-home therapeutic mentoring with youth who have experienced trauma, and in-home family therapy with at risk youth and families.
When she’s not serving others, Rebecca reads voraciously, cooks tentatively (“my food is almost to an edible stage”), and Ioves to travel, ski, and run.
