About Sabrah Jean Collar, NP

Sabrah provides a compassionate and integrated approach. She strives to listen carefully and establish open communication with clients. From a trauma-informed perspective, she partners with you to develop a care plan. Her approach to psychiatric care and medication management blends person-centered care with recommendations that are guided by research and evidence. She partners with clients through education about different components of psychiatric health, including nutrition, physical activity, and relationships. While it is not possible to get to know your entire story in one, two or even five sessions, Sabrah will seek to understand and support your journey towards mental health. When indicated, she may recommend a medication, but not without explanation of how it acts in the body and brain. Sabrah’s passion has long been treating individuals with co-occurring Substance Use Disorders and psychiatric conditions. She has experience with diagnosis and medication management of PTSD, depression, mood disorders, schizophrenia, ADHD, and more. Her nursing experience of almost 15 years includes almost 5 years of psychiatric and mental health nursing. She draws her expertise from experience in acute care, intensive care, medical detoxification, partial hospitalization, and outpatient practice. She received her Masters of Science degree from Walden University and began outpatient practice working with clients suffering from Substance Use Disorders. During her career, Sabrah has served in both unofficial leadership positions as well as nursing manager. Work-life balance is vital, and in her personal life, Sabrah enjoys spending time with her family, which includes a 100 pound German Shepherd Dog. She loves nature and enjoys backpacking, camping, and mountain biking.
