Sara’s clients can expect to work with a clinician who believes in and encourages recovery in their life, addressing a variety of symptoms and diagnoses, such as mood disorders, trauma histories, and serious and pervasive mental illnesses.
Sara takes a client centered approach, finding and implementing tools that are evidence based and/or research informed, such as motivational interviewing, reflective listening, mindfulness skills, behavioral activation, and others. She implements a variety of modalities, based on the needs and preferences of each of her clients, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and DBT skills.
Sara earned a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology degree from Regent University in Virginia. She’s experienced in providing individual and group psychotherapy, as well as individual psychological evaluation, in a community hospital, Veteran Affairs Healthcare Systems, private practice, and inpatient and outpatient settings.
