When you meet with Sarah, you'll experience her gentleness, trauma-informed presence and care, along with some sarcasm and humor. She'll explain to you the options she feels are just right for you to heal and allow you to be part of the decision-making process with treatment planning.
Sarah can work with people struggling with a variety of issues, especially trauma. Her clients learn about the symptoms they experience in a way that facilitates self-compassion. They also learn that there's nothing wrong with them, and that all parts of themselves are welcome in the counseling session. They can learn techniques to practice mindfulness, feel safe in their body, and feel a sense of self-compassion while healing from PTSD, anxiety, body image and self-worth issues.
Sarah holds a Master's degree in Counseling and Guidance, and has worked in community mental health settings with survivors of sexual trauma, as well as body image issues. She's certified in EMDR, and has training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Sand tray, and Play Therapy, and specific, extensive training in trauma and dissociation.
