You'll feel empowered, understood, and cared for when you're in a session with Sarah. You'll feel respected and nurtured, while also being challenged to become your very best self. You'll feel safe and as if a weight is lifted from your shoulders with gentle sarcasm and humor (when appropriate). With Sarah walking alongside you, you'll be able to overcome feelings of doubt related to who you are and what you're capable of, and move toward a place of healing.
Sarah helps clients aged 14 to 65+ overcome many types of life struggles, such as relationship difficulties or anxiety related to the future, as well as more in depth issues, such as trauma, abuse, and depression. She works from an eclectic perspective, drawing from many different approaches and modalities to meet the unique needs of each of her clients. She often uses a psychodynamic and narrative-based approach, believing it's incredibly important to look at the events and stories of the past to find healing for the present. She also works from a trauma-informed, person-centered model that respects significant events that have shaped and molded a client's life. She's also able to integrate faith and spirituality issues for clients who wish to have this area of their life as part of their therapy.
Sarah received a Master's of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary, and has experience working in a residential mental health center with traumatized, at-risk youth.
