About Steve Swan, LPCC

There are times when you may feel vulnerable, when it feels like your circumstances are insurmountable. Sometimes, you may just want relief from the pain. I’m here to help. My core values are kindness, honesty, and respect: honoring your dignity and personal worth. I believe that trust and acceptance are essential in our counseling relationship. I’ll support you in finding the courage to be just as you are and to become who you want to be. Together, we’ll partner so you can grow and change. I look forward to the privilege of joining with you in this journey. I’ve served diverse populations of individuals and families in a variety of treatment settings, including hospital inpatient, emergency and mobile crisis assessment, substance use, co-dependency, hospice and home care. My practice approach is based on conceptual frameworks of Cognitive Behavioral, Gestalt, Existential, Feminist, and Social Justice Theories. I graduated from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado, June of 2020 with a Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. I am licensed in the State of Colorado as a Certified Addictions Counselor, Level III (2007). “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” (Carl Rogers, 1902-1987)
