Provider type: Therapist
Serving: Adolescent (Ages 20+), Adult
“I am a passionate, warm, sensitive and non-judgmental therapist who believes deeply in the power of connection and trust as a way of healing,” Valeria begins. “I have the ability to help people feel heard and understood no matter what they have experienced or where they have come from. “As a therapist, I firmly believe in the courage and competence of all my clients. The way I work is by creating a safe environment, using empathetic abilities, life experience, respect, and unconditional regard. I value working holistically, and I approach the work with a focus on relationships and mind-body connection. “I work collaboratively with you from a strength-based, trauma-focused approach in which I can utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and play therapy to help you or your child work through difficult situations, behaviors, and to facilitate change. I value creativity and flexibility, and I make an effort to find an approach that fits the unique needs of each of my clients.” Training and Professional Experience: I am a bilingual Spanish speaking licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and I provide individual, family and group therapy. I have worked in schools, an inpatient medical hospital, and an outpatient community mental health center with diverse populations. I have experience working with children and adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, attachment issues, behavior problems, social issues, loss and grief, parenting issues, women’s issues, and more. I look forward to helping you on your journey.
