DBT Skills & Processing Group
The DBT skills & processing groups will help you feel calmer and more balanced in everyday life. You’ll learn how to regulate your emotions, how to become more effective in interpersonal relationships, how to manage stressful situations, and how to remain grounded and mindful. You’ll not only learn these skills, but we’ll practice bringing those skills into more and more of everyday life.
Soothing Trauma, Depression, and Anxiety Group
This group teaches you how to find a safe and reassuring place within yourself and in the world. Together, we’ll help you soothe trauma, calm anxiety, and ease depression. Each group begins with a checking in and grounding, then explores a central idea on how to heal, and ends with the group processing the content together. In this process oriented group, you’ll learn new skills, increase your resourcefulness and resiliency, as well as gain understanding and insight into yourself and those around you.
Substance Abuse Group
This group is intended for individuals in the recovery process. Here, you’ll find a safe space to process feelings, learn more about addiction and recovery, and connect with others. We’ll work together – with care and empathy – and support you in your recovery journey as we explore the stages of change, help with goal setting, work on relapse prevention, process feelings including guilt and shame, learn how to build/maintain healthy relationships, identify strengths, and develop healthy coping skills.
Adolescents Group
This group will focus on providing a heart-centered and positive experience for adolescents by building self-esteem and resilience through the use of creative and mindful activities. It will consist of group discussions as well as group and individual creative activities, both focusing on themes of building self-esteem and positive self-image, exploration of values, identifying and understanding emotions, developing coping skills to manage stress and overwhelming emotions (depressive thoughts, anxiety and panic, and more), and peer relationships.
The group will provide an opportunity for adolescents to explore their sense of self, all the while engaging in healthy social relationships in a safe space. Together, we’ll develop a support system, connect with one another, share experiences, gain insight and widen self-awareness.
We hope you’ll join us for a life-affirming group experience, one that will leave you enriched and enlivened. We’re here whenever you’re ready, by phone at 970-310-3406 or by email at help@heartcenteredcounselors.com.
